Pressley Henningsen
I am a lifelong resident of the Hawkeye State. Born in Davenport, Iowa, and raised in rural eastern Iowa. I grew up swimming and fishing in the Wapsipinicon, riding mini-bikes, and always working – from farm chores to bussing tables.
I worked my way through the University of Iowa for both undergraduate studies and law school.
My wife, Jill and I are parents of two boys. We enjoy our acreage, horses, dogs, and I do like my tractor.
I love coaching my boys and their friends in baseball, football, and basketball. Of course they are much better athletes than I could ever be and they demand the limits of my coaching skills as well. We have enjoyed quite a bit of success in our sports and it is all because of the talent and hard work of these young gentlemen.
As an Iowa personal injury attorney, I am devoted to helping Iowans who have suffered serious injury or the loss of a loved one. I am proud of what I do and honored to serve the families I represent.
I do not sugarcoat my words with clients, insurance corporations, or juries. I believe in honest and direct communication with all listeners and the focus must always be the heart of the case. So many folks want to talk around the issue at hand, distract juries with sideshows – all in the hope that common sense and justice will be ignored or forgotten. All I want is for Iowans to decide my cases on the merits, on the principles of right and wrong,
I spend most of my time on three kinds of cases: Nursing Home Neglect, Personal Injury, and Workers’ Compensation. I enjoy each kind of case as they give me a different perspective on how we can help people in need, and possibly make a change in our community for the good.
Having developed a litigation practice at a previous law firm, I joined Riccolo & Semelroth as a shareholder in 2005. In addition to my practice, I am asked to speak around the state at educational seminars for fellow lawyers on all kinds of trial and litigation topics.
In 2006 I was fortunate to become one of only 20 Iowa attorneys inducted into the national Million Dollar Advocates Forum for verdicts and settlements in excess of a million dollars.
I’m a member of the American Association for Justice and its Nursing Home Litigation Group, a practice area that is particularly important to me (click here to read an article about one of one of my nursing home cases). As a lawyer and an advocate, I have litigated nursing home negligence and abuse cases all across Iowa, from Clinton, Davenport, Burlington, Iowa City, Sioux City and elsewhere.
Having owned motorcycles nearly all of my life, I have behind-the-handle-bars experience that I bring to my motorcycle accident cases (click here for an article about one of my motorcycle accident cases).
I’ve worked dozens of Iowa semi crash cases and understand the trucking industry. Thankfully, Iowa enacted a law regarding emergency personnel because of the hard work of one of my clients after he was severely injured by a tractor-trailer that lost control in winter driving conditions (click here for an article about this law).
As a trial attorney, you have to be willing to take on the big defendants and complex issues. I will not shy away form the challenge just because there might be complexities or a large, well-funded defendant on the other side. (Click here for an article about one such complex case).
If you wish to talk about your potential case without any obligations or sugarcoating just give me a call. I am busy and I must devote my time to existing clients and their needs but I will call you back if I cannot take your call. Take care.
Sincerly Yours,
Pressley W. Henningsen
